NSW South Coast club Basin Lure and Fly Angler Inc successfully ran its Round 1 Southern Bream Series event this past weekend on the ever-productive St Georges Basin.
Some 55 boating teams entered with 24 kayak anglers also involved. The boating section was won by Team Breamski (Steve Nedeski and Jarrod Lye) with a 10/10 bag totalling 8.290kg.
Second place went to Team Stealth Blades (Peter and Phil Cook) with a 10/10 bag totalling 6.960kg with Team Up The Creek (Tom McLean and Trevor Gabriel) taking third place honours with a 10/10 bag weighing 6.950kg.
Fourth place went to Team Compleat Angler Batemans Bay/Shimano (Jason Mayberry and Terry Parmenter) with a 10/10 bag totalling 6.620kg with fifth a draw between Team Visdek (Julian Viselli and Allan Dekker) and Team Tonic Eyewear/FG Blades (Damien Skeen and Matt Star) both weighing in bags of 6.610kg.

A total of 451 fish for a combined weight of 252.410kg were caught and released by the 110 anglers boating anglers.
The Hobie Big Bream prize was taken out by Bob Josevski with a great 1.850kg fish in his first ever bream tournament. The kayak section was won by Team Gladiator Tackle (Carl Dubois) with a 6/6 bag totalling 4.010kg; second went to Andrew Death with a bag of 3.560kg; and third place was taken Simon Morley with 3.535kg. The 24 kayakers competing in the comp caught 87 fish for a combined weight of 46.695kg.
