FOR the very first time, a striped marlin won the IGFA Great Marlin Race (IGMR)! For 216 days, the striped marlin tagged off the coast of Balboa, California, USA, in October 2016, swam an overall estimated track distance of 5,560 nautical miles (approximately 10,300 km) to where the tag popped off northeast of Hawaii last May, 2017.
