THIS Win a WAECO Ice Box photo comp entry comes from Sydneysider Ben Hathaway.
Ben calls his photo “Sydney Suburban Mulloway” and describes how it came about:
“The mayhem started at the end of my night, we had almost packed away everything apart from the rods. I never pack the rods away until the very end because it’s when we seem to catch all the fish. As I was walking over to pack up the rods I noticed a nudge on the end of the line and that’s when all hell broke loose!”
“I set the hooks and the fish almost pulled me into the water on it’s first run, my little Saragosa 8000 was screaming and this fish had me running all around the place. To finally land the fish I had to get my mate waist deep into the water to get a hold of the fish (I had left net at home) I now owe my mate a case of beer and new shoes but I am more than happy to do that for an 18kg, 120cm mulloway…
“I am very grateful that my mate packed the camera and it was charged this time … LOL … because now I have a picture I can show my grandchildren.”
Well done Ben, that’s a great catch!
