Victorian Police are on the lookout for tackle thieves following a spate of recent robberies in the state.
In the past four months Victorian tackle stores have suffered eight break-ins with the offenders targeting high value fishing reels from Daiwa, Shimano and Penn. A full count of the number of reels stolen has not been established, but it is believed to be in the vicinity of 400. The police believe these thefts are being done to order, but, also that the offenders must have somewhere that they are disposing of these items. As a note, none of the reels are in boxes, they have all been stolen out of the display cabinets from inside the stores.
Attached are images of the various models of reels stolen.
Anyone who can help police with their investigation is urged to contact Detective Senior Constable Rob Howarth on (03) 9890 9496 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
