YAMBA’s famous annual “Tim the Bream” fishing titles will return again to the Clarence River, Yamba, NSW, in August, 2017, with a prize pool of over $30,000.
After a successful return to the Clarence River in 2016, the Rotary Club of Yamba will again host the popular tagged fish fishing event from Ford Park, Yamba, on August 19 and 20, 2017.
This year, the prize for catching the tagged ‘Tim The Bream’ is a whopping $20,000, while another 10 tagged fish will have a value of $1000 each.
The main weekend event will be held at Ford Park, Yamba, where there will be daily prizes awarded for the biggest catch of the day. Bring your live yellowfin bream, flathead, luderick, mangrove Jack, mulloway, trevally and whiting for weigh in. There will also be prizes for the most fish weighed, smallest fish and the strangest fish caught over the weekend.
Tickets are available online at stickytickets.com and will soon also be at all bait and tackle shops in Maclean, Yamba and Iluka. There will also be in-person registration available on Friday 18th at the Yamba Shores Tavern. Registration is also available at Ford Park on Saturday, August 19, from 5am to 10am.
Fishing can take place on shore or from a boat between the southern and northern banks of the Clarence River and eastward of the Harwood Bridge to the mouth of the Clarence River. The rock walls between Yamba and Iluka are a popular spot for the savvy angler.
This is a catch and release competition only and all fish must be alive and in a healthy condition when presented for weighing at Ford Park to be eligible for entry into any category of this competition.
