Tweed River charter operation

A new inshore/offshore charter fishing operation has recently become operational on the NSW/QLD border.

RU4REEL, a 38ft Steber Sportsfisher based on the Tweed River, is comprehensively equipped with a full range of top shelf fishing tackle, from light spin rods through to 130lb game outfits.

The boat is skippered by local Tweed fishing identity, Roderick Walmsley, who aims to provide a specialised service to the sportfishing public. Charters will cater for a diversity of fishing options including: deep water jigging, deepwater electric reel fishing, flicking plastics for snapper, bottom fishing inshore and offshore reefs, and trolling and live baiting for a wide range of pelagics.

RU4REEL is fully kitted out with the latest in fish finding technology including dual sounders, outriggers, electronic downriggers and underwater camera.

The charter works via a hire-the-boat scenario with all food, tackle, bait and beverages supplied. Charters cater for up to eight anglers, although smaller groups will generally enjoy a better more personalised service. Although fishing is a priority it is not the only option RU4REEL Charters offer.
