THE Victoran Fisheries Authority’s Defibrillator Grants Program is in full swing with the first lot of angling clubs receiving their free defibrillator packages.
Over 30 clubs have now applied for a defibrillator as part of the program. The second round of the program is opening soon on September 16.
This program is part of the Victorian Government’s “Target One Million” plan for recreational fishing, and is supplying eligible angling clubs with a defibrillator package, which include basic first aid and defibrillator training.
Defibrillators are an important piece of emergency equipment that can significantly improve survival rates from a sudden cardiac arrest and are a vital resource in developing safe and resilient communities.
