WE had quite a few weird and wonderful entries for our recent Weird Catch Comp.
While there were some great fishing tales amongst the entries, and a few interesting pics, we couldn’t go past the following entry from Peter Sklavos. The photo shows an unsual catch made by Peter’s daughter Corinne at Jumpinpin in south-east Queensland.
The fish in question is a hairtail, more commonly associated with winter catches down around Sydney in mid winter. Corinne’s hairtail apparently took a liking to a soft plastic she was fishing in 40-50 feet of water. The long silvery fish was identified as a hairtail by Peter.
Well done guys, some great prizes are on their way to you!
