ANY fisho who’s had a fish bone stuck in their throat knows it can be a disturbing experience.
Spare a thought then for a Taiwanese woman who recently, literally, bit off more than she could chew…
According to the China Post, a woman in Southern Taiwan recently sat down to dine on a fish caught by her grandson. The Post says the woman had taken a few bites when she felt extreme pain in her throat, and was rushed to hospital in Tainan City.
Medical staff at the hospital reportedly proceeded to remove a fishing hook and a 13-centimetre long piece of mono fishing line from the woman’s oesophagus. The operation took around 10 minutes.
