Women in Fishing Evening at Fishing Station

SYDNEY’S Fishing Station has confirmed an outstanding line-up of Australia’s best female anglers who will share their stories, experience and passion for fishing:

  • Karen Wright – MC for the evening and avid game fishing angler.
  • Jo Starling – World-record holder, Australian representative and founder of the Women’s Recreational Fishing League.
  • Audi Croft – Shimano Pro Angler, filmmaker and lover of the outdoors.
  • Vicki Lear – Tournament angler, record holder and advocate for recreational angling.
  • Pip Walker – Shimano Pro Angler and inshore specialist.
  • Chloe Laurence – Shimano Pro Angler and game fishing specialist.
  • Mikayla Thomas – Daiwa staff member and passionate offshore angler.
  • Hayley Bonnici – Game fishing specialist and record holder.
  • Sandy Goreki – Game fishing specialist

The evening is about bringing our community together and encouraging more women and girls to participate in recreational fishing. By connecting newcomers with experienced female anglers, Fishing Station says it hopes to help overcome barriers such as a lack of confidence, knowledge or connections, and show how accessible and rewarding fishing can be.

It’s also an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women in the sport and build a welcoming community where people can learn, ask questions and feel supported. Everyone is welcome, including friends, family members and partners.

Your presence would help recognise these women’s contributions and support our efforts to grow female participation in fishing across the Northern Beaches and beyond.

Date: Thursday 15 October
Venue: Fishing Station, 50 Darley St, Mona Vale
