AS well as some great weather last weekend, Sydney also turned it on for some of the city’s offshore fishos.
One lucky angler was Tim Angus who was out fishing at popular gamefishing location, Browns Mountain, last Sunday. Tim was on board Halekulani with mates and crew consisting of: Ryan, Riley, Duncan, Tom, Eddo and Pat. He told Fisho the boys were east of Browns when the afternoon bite turned hectic as they witnessed the amazing sight of 50kg plus airborne yellowfin tuna smashing fleeing baitfish.
Tim’s pictured yellowfin was hooked amongst the melee on a pink over white Zuker lure on 24 kg tackle. The boys also hooked and fought another big ‘fin for 45 minutes on 15kg tackle before the deep diver lure it was hooked on couldn’t hack the pace and snapped, earning the tuna its freedom.
