THE Canberra Game Fishing Club’s annual Bermagui Yellowfin Tournament concluded early this week after another well attended event saw a variety of gamefish caught.
According to Judy Sillis of the CGFC, 81 boats and 290 anglers representing 22 game fishing clubs from as far away as Tasmania and the Gold Coast descended on the famous NSW south coast gamefishing port to compete in this year’s event.
As reported earlier in the week, the tournament’s competing boats caught a variety of game species including striped marlin, dolphinfish, albacore, sharks and short-billed spearfish – two of the latter species were reportedly caught by non-competing boats.
Justin Xerri took out the Most Meritorious Yellowfin at the event.
