WITH Sydney easing into winter courtesy of one of the warmest May months on record, the city’s fishos have been making the most of the balmy autumn weather.
One big city fisho who’s been making the most of the current run of mid 20 degrees C days is fly fishing guide Justin Duggan of Sydney Fly Fishing Tours.
In Duggan’s latest online report he highlights some of the highs (and lows) he’s experienced in Sydney lately with clients.
Here’s a snippet from the latest Sydney Fly Fishing Tours newsletter:
Someone flicked a switch on the pelagics this past week and after casting into boiling salmon schools all day yesterday, Steve Cohn was treated to a solid bait ball on the run home. Clear waters saw sight casting amongst the completely frantic bait as kings and salmon zig-zagged through the water. Some of the salmon landed were absolute beasts and Jim Jordan managed a 4kg fish last week from the same schools.
The coming months are some of my favourite fishing of the year, great weather, great fishing and a few whales and dolphins mixed in … Bring it on!
