NAVICO released its Simrad touch-screen NSS Sports Series sounders at a media event last Friday on Sydney’s Hawkesbury River.
The new touch-screen model joins the Simrad family of NSE and NSO units and, according to Simrad, is designed for the 25-35ft boats and serious fishos looking for a feature-packed marine electronics system.
The unit is fully compatible with other Simrad models in the range and is the first to offer touch-screen, allowing a new level of user-friendliness. The NSS offers both touch-screen and standard button operation. At first glance the interface looks remarkably like an iPhone or iPad with easy to read icons, and pages that slide left-to-right, and vice-versa.
If you’ve ever used an iPhone or Smart Phone, and that’s most of us, using one of the new NSS units will come naturally.
Stay tuned for an upcoming issue of Fishing World mag for the full rundown on all of the NSS’s features, and in the meantime, check out the video below we filmed of Simrad’s Ken Thompson spruiking the benefits of the Simrad NSS.
