Tohatsu launches new tiller option

TOHATSU has launched a range of new ergonomic multi-function tiller handles for some of the popular outboards in its range.

The new tiller currently fits the popular TLDI in the MD 40/50 hp and four-stroke MFS 25/30 hp models and in 2013 will be available for some of the larger motors in the range.

The kits offer some convenient features such as a fine tuning friction control and a steering co-pilot. The latter is a nice safety feature which reduces some of the load on the controller’s arm when underway.

Other notable inclusions are a comfortable shift lever, longer throttle grip with a 110 degree rotation for manoeuvrability, ideal located stop switch/safety lanyard, start switch and warning lamps (where needed).

Tohatsu says the tiller handle is substantially built and as a result the manufacturer has introduced new swivel brackets and related components to take the kit.
