Shimano’s Japanese Kairiki braid now available to Aussie fishos

RESH from winning Best New Line at the AFTA Tackle show at the Gold Coast recently Shimano’s Kairiki SX8 polyethylene braid is an eight-carrier PE Dyneema braid that has had great success on the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) and is now available to Australian anglers.

Kairiki utilises S-EBT (Shimano Enhanced Body Technology) in the manufacturing process and has a smooth finish, which creates less friction over guides, and less resistance when moving through the water whether cast or trolled.

Its excellent sensitivity is created by reducing overall stretch (less than 2%), with less elongation. It is also well behaved on reel spools, with even lay and less propensity to throw off frustrating wind knots.

Kairiki braid comes in a distinctive, low fade Mantis Green colour and is available in 6, 8, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 80 pound breaking strains on 150 and 300 metre spools.
