ANYONE who has felt the power of a silver (or black) drummer on the end of a line will know just how meritorious this particular catch was!
Last weekend, Ali Lamond was fishing off a rock ledge at Jervis Bay on the NSW South Coast when she hooked this monster silver drummer on a peeled prawn bait. Using a Sustain 2500 spin reel spooled with 10lb braid line and a 16lb leader, she somehow managed to turn the head of the powerful silver.
“It was smoking line,” Ali’s obviously amazed partner Ian Osterloh told Fisho this morning via SMS. After a few photos the big silver was released to fight another day.
