Bloomfield fleet grows

Bloomfield Lodge, located on the edge of the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, has added a purpose built sport fishing vessel to its fleet, the Weary Bay Bandit. This 4.8m Polycraft is powered by a 75hp E-Tec low-emission engine and has been custom fitted to best utilise local fishing opportunities in the Bloomfield River and nearby reef systems.

Equipped with a spacious casting deck, electric trolling motor and quality electronics, the Bandit offers a safe and functional fishing platform whatever your preferred fishing technique.

Fishing locations are dependent on prevailing tidal and weather conditions and include casting and trolling lures within the river system for species such as mangrove jack and barramundi; bottom bouncing reefs for coral trout and nannygai and trolling or casting lures for pelagic such as trevally and mackerel.

Together with the river ferries, Bloomfield Lodge is well equipped to provide guests with a range of activities to enjoy the unique local waterways during their stay.
