VETERAN Nationals Senator Ron Boswell, a staunch supporter of the recreational fishing sector during last year’s election campaign, has written an interesting op-ed piece in a recent edition of The Australian.
In it, the Senator gives an overview of what the Coalition Government plans for the federal marine parks network instigated by the former Labor government. The boundaries of the various parks will remain the same, Senator Boswell says, but what is allowed – or not allowed – to happen within those boundaries is set to change quite radically.
Of major interest to anglers is the pledge by the Government to remove the contentious – and enormous – fishing bans.
