THE latest Fishing World project boat has arrived – a new Bar Crusher 535XS centre console.
Fishing World picked up the new rig in Melbourne this week before driving north to Sydney with the help of Isuzu’s latest powerful D-MAX.
The new model is a significant step up from its predecessor, which I owned and enjoyed for several years. The new model features a cleverly-designed, larger centre console with ample space for the flush mounting the 16-inch Lowrance HDS sounder plus gauges and more. The throttle control is now on the face of the console and the console also features useful integrated grab handles. The console has been positioned further forward, making the new 535XS a true centre console, while opening up loads of fishing space at the rear.
Other new features include a new fuel filler at the transom (with a cut-off valve), step-thru door at transom, rear fold down seat, optional ice box seat with split lid and plenty more.
I’ve opted for a 90hp Yamaha four-stroke to power the new 535. It’s a very quiet, fuel efficient, and smooth engine with plenty of power for this boat.
While I’ve only spent a short amount of time on the water with the new rig, first impressions are more than positive!
