A special edition of Fishing World marking the 60th anniversary of iconic Australian lure company Halco is onsale now. The “Halco Collector’s Edition” will feature a special Halco inspired cover PLUS a bonus Halco Laser Pro 120 in an exclusive colour.
A very limited number of the Halco Specials will be onsale only at selected newsagencies for $12.95. The extra cost over the “normal” mag is to help go towards the production costs of the special cover and onserting the lure. If we could cover these costs, we would, but unfortunately the economics of publishing make it hard to do so. The total retail value of the lure and mag package is about $22 so hopefully you guys will agree it’s not bad value. We could be like other mags and buy cheapo lures direct from China and put them on the mag but instead we prefer to go through an Aussie company and provide you with a quality Aussie-made lure that will swim well and catch fish.
A five page feature by Fisho staffer Scott Thomas detailing Halco’s long and colourful history will be available in both the “special” and the standard issue, which will be onsale for the usual price of $7.50.
