FISHING World this week picked up its brand new project boat, a Bar Crusher 535XS.
The centre console plate boat from Bar Crusher offers a truly versatile rig suitable for a range of fishing styles, from fresh to salt. Its convenient size also means it can be towed with an average car and fits in a standard size garage. It’s economical to run and can be managed single handedly.
The 535XS took its maiden voyage this afternoon on Wogonga Inlet in Narooma before a gusty change forced us off the water.
In the short time spent flicking lures around the flats and drop-offs, the 535XS more than met expectations offering a stable platform at rest and a sporty run under way.
Back at the ramp, winds reaching 40 knots made for an interesting retrieve. Thankfully, the Bar Catch launch/retrieve system turned an otherwise dicey situation into a text book boat retrieve.
