Fishy Artworks

The attached image featuring a giant trevally is a copy of the latest sportfishing orientated painting – titled “Hit of the Year” – the handiwork of Brisbane-based Australian artist Angus Hulme. A professional graphic designer, Hulme works in water colour and gouaches, incorporating traditional painting and airbrush techniques with acrylics.

He has also had a number of published works in Fishing World magazine including:

“Rings of River History” – Nov 2004; “Chromed Monsters” – Aug 2005 and “Sportfishing the Ultimate Guide” – Fishing World magazine liftout 2007.

The featured GT painting measures approximately 80cm x 50cm and according to the artist is the result of using a combination of water colour paints and airbrushed acrylics. Hulme also says he is intending to produce a limited number of 50 prints of this piece, and while he researches the most feasible option for the print making process, expects he will sell individual prints for around $150 AUD.
