THE Sofala branch of CAS released 22,000 rainbow trout into the Turon River, NSW, on Sunday thanks to the team at Dutton Hatchery.
Col Gordon, secretary of the Sofala branch CAS said: The rainbows were in excellent condition, as they always are from Dutton Hatchery and are now chewing their way through the tucker to be foot-long this time next season & supplying some great fun for recreational anglers.”
“I saw a few small fish jumping out feeding about 4 inches long indicating natural recruitment from previous stockings thanks to the DPI stocking programs that greatly enhance recreational fishing for us anglers,” said Col.
