COMPETITORS in this weekend’s nationwide Pirtek Fishing Challenge will be vying for big cash and prizes.
The event on Sunday April 15 has 17 individual $4,000 cash prizes up for grabs as part of of a total prize pool of $130,000.
The unique one-day event is open to every person in Australia with all proceeds going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA).
At 6pm on Saturday 14 April, organisers will announce the target species for the competition. To qualify for the cash prizes, entrants must catch one of the 17 target species with the closest to the mystery length set to win one of the $4,000 cash prizes.
The competition’s target species are broken down to the following in each region:
• NSW/ACT 4
• Qld 3
• Vic 2
• SA 1
• Tas 1
• WA 2
• NT 1
• Murray Darling Basin 3
Entry is just $20 and that money goes directly to Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Entrants receive a limited edition cap and brag (measuring) mat and 2012 sticker.
