AFETR reading Kev Savvas’ recent report on blades and smothering a bit of the S-Factor on everything (including my toast) we were psyched for a “smelly” saturday session!
It was a gorgeous afternoon up at Jumpinpin (half hour out of Brisbane) and we had a few surprises on the bream gear (see main pic)…
The fishing up here has been RED HOT with plenty of good mulloway and threadfin salmon coming out of the Brisbane River and more bream than you can poke a stick at (or rod as the case may be).
Most anglers have been doing extra well with live baits at night but lure chuckers are getting their fair share of the action. Damiki Rippers and the ever faithful Squidgy Wrigglers (particularly in Bloodworm) have been slaying ’em. If you’re keen to have a go just remember to rig on the lighter side and slow your plastics right down to maximise the time that fish can have a look (and sniff) and enjoy the results.
Hope everyone ignored the unusually cool Queensland weather, and also got out amongst it. Might see you out there.
