TESTED: Ecooda Live Shrimp

FISHING writers get to use lots of lures, most of which are quite good. Every now and then you get to field test something that stands out from the pack. The Ecooda Live Shrimp soft plastics are the most lifelike shrimp or prawn imitations I’ve ever used – by a long way. They feature a unique fish attracting tail action courtesy of the Kevlar strands impregnated through the lure body. This also results in an extremely durable lure.

Ecooda Live Shrimp’s are available in a range of ten deadly colours and four sizes. The 3.5 & 5.0 inch models are rigged weedless for anglers fishing around weed beds and structure for species such as dusky flathead and barra.

The 2 & 3 inch models are rigged on a standard weighted jig head which is ideal for general estuary work. I’ve enjoyed tremendous success testing these impressive soft plastics in my local estuaries on bream, whiting and dusky flathead and I’m sure they have tremendous potential in the tropics for anglers chasing barra and mangrove jacks.

Freshwater anglers chasing bass, cod and yellowbelly should check these out as well. The Ecooda Live Shrimp is the closest thing I’ve seen to a real live prawn or shrimp in a lure.
