TESTED: Samaki Battle Blades

VIBES or blade type lures have really added another dimension to estuarine lure fishing over the last few years.

I’ve been using the Samaki Battle Blades extensively this season on my home waters of Lake Macquarie from both kayak and tinny and have enjoyed excellent results on bream, dusky flathead, flounder, snapper and even the odd squid.

The Samaki Battle Blades are available in 3.5, 5.0 & 8.0 gram models in a range of eight eye catching finishes.

These lures cast like absolute bullets which is great for covering water especially when kayak fishing, and generate those fish attracting vibrations even when worked as slowly as possible.

The fast sink rate of these lures really allows you to effectively fish deeper water for bream and dusky flathead. One of the major bonuses of chasing dusky flathead with these lures is the improved hook-up when compared to traditional soft plastics. The pair of ultra-sharp chemically sharpened trebles that are fitted to the Battle Blades rarely miss the mark when chasing flatties.

I’d recommend any keen estuary lure fishers give the Samaki Battle Blades a go; they’re certainly a versatile lure that has improved my results on estuary bream and flathead markedly this season.
