HISTORICALLY, there haven’t been any great improvements in surf rods for years. However, that has now changed with the release of the Samaki Zing Surf range of rods.
The Zing Surf SZG-1062H model that I’ve field tested over the last 12 months has been built on a Type III carbon blank that is super light, yet incredibly responsive. This two piece threadline rod is 10 feet 6 inches long and is rated for 12 to 25lb lines.
I’ve personally successfully cast lures in the 35 to 85 grams range with the outfit when used in conjunction with a threadline loaded up with GSP line.
The build quality of the Samaki Zing Surf SZG-1062H is nothing short of sensational. It features a Fuji deluxe reel seat, camo grips and silicon flow guides which have proven to provide tangle free casting performance when using either GSP or monofilament lines.
