US-BASED Uber Technologies this week announced its latest venture, Uber Baits.

Australian fishos now have direct access to fresh and frozen bait through a user-friendly app. Users can choose between live baits such as yakka, slimy mackerel, and live worms, while fresh baits include prawns, squid and local beach worms. Frozen baits include prawns and pilchards.

Deliveries are available in all metropolitan areas and most regional towns and centres. Uber has promised baits will be delivered promptly and guarantee freshness.

Company spokesman Myles Baker said Uber Baits was an obvious step following the success of Uber Eats and its ride sharing business.

“Everyone deserves fresh bait and Uber Baits is here to deliver,” said Baker.

“Not everyone wants a pizza delivered on a Friday night and Uber Baits is here to ensure you go home with smelly hands and a fish cooler full of fish,” he said.
