NSW and Victorian Fisheries authorities are reminding freshwater anglers to adhere to Murray cod possession limits, size limits and catch and release best practice when the Murray cod season opens this Friday.
A daily bag limit of two Murray cod per person per day applies in NSW, while a limit of one fish per day is in force on Victorian rivers. Bag limits on lakes can differ, so check local regulations. Fishers in both states are required to release Murray cod that are smaller than 55 cm, or bigger than 75 cm, with the least possible harm
