BASIN Lure and Fly Angler Inc successfully staged Round 1 of the SBS (Southern Bream Series) this past weekend on Sydney’s Georges River.
The event proudly sponsored by Fishing World, saw 58 Boating Teams and 32 Kayak Anglers entered – a great turnout.
The final winner in the Boating section was Team Flats Raiders’ Peter Dent and Nathan Thornthwaite with a 5/5 bag totalling 2.980kg.
Second place went to Team Tonic Eyewear with Damien Skeen and Matt Starr taking a 5/5 bag totalling 2.960kg; Third went to Team Gamakatsu/Duff Rods with Bryce Calvert and Nick Reay with a 5/5 bag totalling 2.920kg.
Fourth was Team Millerods with Jason Harlock and Paul Mazaroli with a 5/5 bag totalling 2.910kg and fifth was Team Compleat Angler Batemans Bay/Shimano’s Jason Mayberry and Terry Parmenter with a 5/5 bag totally 2.840kg.
In the Boating section there were a total of 184 fish for a combined weight of 83.860kg for 116 anglers.
The Austackle Boating Big Bream prize was taken out by Phil Cooke with a 0.950kg fish.
The Kayak section was won by Team Gladiator Tackle – Carl Dubois with a bag of 3/3 totalling 2.560kg, second went to Team Prolure Australia – Luke Kay with a bag of 3/3 totalling 1.720kg and third was a tie with Team Totally Immersed – Brian Hunt with a bag of 3/3 totalling 1.610kg, and Jason Reid also with a bag of 3/3 totalling 1.610kg.
In the Kayak section there were a total of 44 fish caught for a combined weight of 27.460kg for 32 anglers.
The Austackle Kayak Big Bream prize was taken out by Carl Dubois with a great fish of 1.360kg.
