AFTER the catastrophic weather that hit south-east Queensland over the Christmas period, many fishos knew that it would be a “wash-out” for at least a couple of months.
Being based in Brisbane I saw first hand the massive amount of water that smashed its way down the river. Pontoons, boats and any structure that wasn’t secure enough to handle the water’s intense power was simply “relocated”.
All that being said, the natural occurrence of floods and the like in the long term greatly benefits the fishing. It seems that the mighty Brissy is coming good again with many anglers reporting good fishing with aggressive fish back on the hunt for anything that moves!
