TESTED: Leatherman OHT Multi-Tool

LEATHERMAN is a name synonomous with quality multi-tools and one of the brand’s latest products is no exception. Over the last couple of months I’ve been using the OHT Multi-Tool out on the water.

The OHT stands for “one-handed tool”, an aspect of this new Leatherman product that for mine makes it particularly useful for fishos. Picture yourself fighting a large fish, solo. You’re holding the rod in one hand and you’ve got the fish boatside and need to quickly unhook it. The OHT features pliers that slide inside the tool’s frame. With a little practice a forceful downward “flick” slides out the spring-loaded plier jaws and you’re ready for action.

Typical of a product of this quality it has a stainless steel body and features a bunch of handy fold-out tools including: Spring-action 154CM replaceable wire cutters, 420HC knife, 420HC serrated knife, four screwdrivers including Phillips, saw, strap cutter, can opener, bottle opener, oxygen tank wrench and more.

The OHT comes in a durable sheath that easily attaches to a belt via a snap buckle and has a velcro-secured flap for easy access. At 280 grams it’s not too heavy to wear around all day.

The OHT has a stainless steel body, boasts a 25 year warranty and is available in Black or military style Coyote Tan as shown here. Appropriately, the OHT boasts the sort of quality gadgetry old Wile E Coyote would die for.

RRP is $149.95.
