The Reel Women Barra Fishing Classic was established in 2002 by keen female angler Emma Cartwright who thought it would be a great opportunity to involve other women in recreational fishing. The female friendly fishing Classic is now in its 12th year and attracts hundreds of women from not only the Northern Territory, but right across Australia.
