SOLIDTEKNICS is the only large scale cookware that is entirely designed, sourced and manufactured in Australia. It brings ancient cooking methods back from the iron age where it was everyday cookware for all. These days people have been misled by companies producing non-stick cookware with carcinogenic toxic coatings.
The beauty of cooking on ion is that you truly are cooking. With cheap non-stick pans, it is easy to throw an egg on and know that it will slide right off. But at what cost? As soon as you start cooking on ion you need to ensure that the pan is preheated and then it performs far superior to standard nonstick surfaces. One of the main benefits of cooking on ion is that it can be heated to a much higher temperature.

Solidteknics uses Australian-sourced wrought ion as opposed to cast ion. The difference is that wrought ion is lighter and won’t crack when dropped. There are no rivets in the SolidTeknics range, so no weak points that can falter overtime. One solid mould with a specially designed handle to assist in heat dispersion.
Food tastes better cooking on your Solidteknics pan, you can get steaks caramelised and crispy skin fish is far easier to achieve with the even distribution of heat. Non-stick pans tend to have hot and cold patches where fish skin will shrink unevenly, bunch and cause the opposite desired effect.

The cookware from Solidteknics is built to last, each pan is stamped with a date to remind the owner of the family heirloom how far its history extends. Multigenerational cookware such as Solidteknics wrought ion can mean great things for our health and the environment. Cooking is entirely non-toxic. Australians are currently sending an estimated 2 million pots and pans into landfill annually. Choosing something that is built to last is worth the extra initial cost.
The 30cm AusIon frypan RRP is $229.95. Having used the cookware in a variety of settings including on a gas stove, in the oven and straight on the coals with a variety of proteins and vegetables. I can vouch for this product. This is something that all Australians should be looking at investing in.

Ion pans will rust, which can be easily treated and avoided altogether. The AusIon pans come pre-seasoned and ready to cook. Every time you cook a fatty protein you build up the seasoning improving the performance and longevity of the pan. Cooking acidic foods such as tomatoes can damage the seasoning. I lightly season my pan with grape seed oil by rubbing a thin layer across the pan after cleaning it every time I use it. Grape seed oil has a low smoking point and is impregnated into the pan to protect it from rust and strengthen the patina. The more you use it the better they perform.
